Stockton, Calif. – Senior men's basketball guard Alec Kobre has been selected as the Tigers' Competitor of the Month for December. Only nine student-athletes earn the distinction every year in Pacific Athletics and Kobre is the fourth to garner the award during the 2015-16 academic year. The Competitor of the Month award is given each month to a Pacific athlete who demonstrates unusual or remarkable competitive effort, focus, and discipline.
During the month of December, Kobre returned to the Tigers' active roster after missing the opening month of the season. Reinstated to the team amidst difficult circumstances, Kobre led by example as he helped pull the Tigers back together during trying times. IN addition to his leadership both on and off the court, Kobre made an immediate impact on the stat sheet, scoring 25 points in his first game back, which at the time was a career best for the sharpshooter. On December 21, he would lead the Tigers' to their first WCC win of the year with a game-winning three at the buzzer in overtime to defeat Santa Clara, 73-72, at the Spanos Center.
