Catching Up with Pacific Baseball's Adam Ching
Feb. 9, 2008
Q: You are entering your fourth and final year at Pacific. What has your experience been since you have arrived here at Pacific?
Adam: It has been a great experience and it has given me opportunities that I would not have gotten anywhere else.
Q: You broke your leg in game 33 last season. During rehab over the summer you had a chance to do an internship with Pacific Baseball Alumnus Scott Boras and his corporation. What exactly did you do and what was that experience like?
Adam: It was a great stepping stone in my career off the field. I was able to meet professional players and help out around the office with equipment orders and some marketing.
Q: How has your experience at Pacific prepared you for life?
Adam: My experience at Pacific has allowed me to receive a quality education and help me become the man I am today.
Q: What is your outlook for the 2008 Tigers?
Adam: The 2008 squad is looking strong, we have stronger bonds with each other since last year and we have more experience.
Q: What do you want the players that play at Pacific 10 years from now to be told about Adam Ching?
Adam: I would want them to be told that I was the man. That I always played hard and that I had surprising power for my size.
Q: Describe the Klein Family Field to our readers?
Adam: It's simply "majestic". It is hands down the best field on the west coast, especially when the lights are glowing.
Q: What are your plans after you graduate?
Adam: If professional baseball doesn't pan out for myself, I'd like to try to land a well-paying job, but it's going to be tough.
Q: What do you love about the game of baseball?
Adam: I love the competitive atmosphere, when the fans come out on a Friday night, and of course, the relationships built by being on a team. We out there!
Q: What player in the big leagues do you most admire and why?
Adam: Well, because I'm an Angels fan, I'm going to have to go with my boy Chone Figgins. He comes out every day ready to play, at any position, and at any given time.
